Green peas have a lot of nutritional values but it is also known to hold the potential to cause gas or discomfort in babies. Therefore, to be on a safe side, I introduced peas when my kids were 8 months old and above.
Green peas hold great amount of Vitamins like Vitamin A,B,K and C, it also contains minerals and fibre . Green peas is also known for its protein and carbohydrate content.
When you feed your baby a few spoons of green peas, there are some good benefits that comes with it. Below are a few benefits that I came across while researching to help you realise that green peas is a recommended dietary option for babies.

Now that you know the good you will be doing every time you feed a spoon of green peas to your baby, let me show you my 3 easy green peas recipe for your baby that he/she will love.
Recipe 1 (Green Peas and Sweet Potato)
Ingredients :
37 g (1/4 cup) Organic Frozen Green Peas
40 g (1/4 cup) Sweet Potato (steam)
1/4 cup Stock (what ever stock you have handy will be fine, I used veal stock)
1/2 teaspoon butter
Precess :
First run hot water on frozen peas. On medium heat, put butter in a pan, add peas and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add sweet potato, Note ( I first steamed the sweet potato for 15 minutes ). Add in the stock and cook for 2 minutes. Take off the heat, cover with the lid and let it cool for a few minutes. Using a food processor/ liquidiser, puree until desired consistency is achieved then serve.
Recipe 2 (Green Peas and Organic Ground Beef )
Ingredients :
37 g (1/4 cup) Organic Frozen Green Peas
28 g (1 Tablespoon) Organic Ground Beef
1/4 cup Stock
1/2 teaspoon butter
Process :
In a pan, add butter and ground beef then sauté for 2 minutes. Add green peas and stock then cook on low heat with lid for 3-5 minutes. Take off the heat and again let it cool for 5 minutes then puree and bon appetit to baby.
Recipe 3 (Green Pease and Cooked Chicken Breast)
Ingredients :
37 g (1/4 cup) Organic Frozen Green Peas
28 g (1 Tablespoon) Cooked Chicken Breast
1/4 cup stock
1/2 teaspoon butter
Process :
On medium heat, add butter, chicken breast and sauté for 2 minutes. Add green peas and stock, let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, let it cool, then puree until desired texture and consistency is achieve then serve.
